Jovi Schnell makes vividly pop-inspired works that fuse the organic with the mechanical. By drawing connections between symbolic forms she creates metaphorical systems that evocate the reversibility of the microcosm to macrocosm. Set amidst the complexities of undulating architectures, celestial forces and fantastical botanicals, the semi-abstracted figures represented in her creations appear to reflect upon their place and their function within it.
